SPECIAL EDUCATION AND DISABILITY
I am a proud mom of 3 boys. Two of those were micropreemie fraternal twins born at 25 weeks. My oldest son Noah passed away after 6 days, his twin, Sam, was in the NICU for 5 months. He was born at 1lb 11oz and was diagnosed with Retinopathy of Prematurity Stage 3 and mild ataxic cerebral palsy. Today he is fully mainstreamed in a general education classroom with Resource Services Support. Due to his extreme prematurity he has received early intervention services and special education service support including Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Adaptive Physical Education Therapy. He is doing wonderfully. The articles listed below talk about my experiences and I give advice for parents also involved in the Special Needs community.
