Hello everyone! This is Amy, and thank you for reading! This blog will be focusing on my writing journey and what I have learned and continue to learn thus far. I am in the book proposal stage for my New Monkees book. An average proposal usually contains the following things:

1. Overview
2. Author Bio
3. Chapter titles with summaries
4. Competing Markets
5. Promotion plan for book
6. Sample Chapters
7. Your market  – who do you think will buy your book

I am also in the process of building my author platform too.  I am currently reading Build your Author Platform by Carole Jelen and Michael McCallister.

So yes, enough back story.

The New Monkees! My favorite band growing up! How cool is that? I still marvel at how fun it is to do this project, and it is. I am in love with it heart and soul. These four guys Marty Ross, Dino Kovas, Jared Chandler, and Larry Saltis have become such an important part of my life over the years. I have been a fan since 1987 and I had the chance to meet them in 2007. That is when our friendship began.

So yes, this is the formation of a nonfiction book in real time and all the effort that it takes to essentially “give birth” to it.  I will have tips, stories, reviews, inspirational messages all along the way as well.  I welcome comments and questions.  Feel free to check out  my “Works” page too!
